Wigs are like natural human hairs. Although they are not attached directly to your scalp, they require proper care and maintenance. Because they can be styled in many ways, you need to observe proper ways to restore the original beauty of your wigs.

In knowing the proper maintenance habits for your wig, it is important that you understand the type of wig material you are using. Wigs are commonly categorized into two: human hair wigs and synthetic wigs. Both require different caring habits to prolong their life spans. Many manufactured wigs like Aspen wigs, Estetica wigs, Vivica fox wigs, and New Born Free wigs to name a few, are made of human hair and synthetic materials.

The first step in maintaining your wig is to buy the right tools that are made specifically for wigs. Many wig manufacturers recommend the use of wire combs instead of usual combs and brushes you use for your natural hair. When you comb your wig, remember to remove the tangles first and start combing the wig from the bottom, not from the top.

It is also recommended that you buy specific shampoos and conditioners for your wig because wigs need to be cleaned too. If your wig starts to acquire odor, it is the best time for you to wash it. Washing your wigs depends on the frequency of your use. Resellers of fine quality wigs like Aspen wigs advise that you do not use hot water in washing your wig and let it dry off on its own.

You should also avoid trimming your wigs on your own. Although many wigs like Aspen wigs, Vivica Fox, and Estetica wigs come in different styles and cuts, there will be times that you need to trim down a few centimeters or inches of your wig strands. You can ask your hairstylists to trim your wig for you or better yet, visit a wig store or stylist near you.

Lastly, if you’re doing activities such as cooking, grilling, or anything related to heat, refrain from standing near as it will damage the texture of your wig. Even if you have fine quality wigs like Aspen wigs, it is still best to have precautionary measures in keeping the quality.
